HANG ON! IT’S NEARLY OVER…

Happy election day everyone! Isn’t this fun? Seriously, not at all. As luck would have it, I’ve found myself thrust into the unfortunate role of “swing state voter.” I can honestly I am tired of seeing these folks in my hood all the time. I went to breakfast with a friend this morning where a news team tried to interview us just trying to numb ourselves with egg whites, potatoes and jelly. Before I could get too grumpy about the giant high-resolution lens aimed at my pillow-mashed face, I realized the reporter looked as weary as I felt, only in full make-up…

COMPASSION

A compassionate response to a friend or loved one who is suffering is a powerful, effortless, and perfect response of knowing. So the question is, if compassion requires “knowing,” how can we be compassionate if we don’t feel as if we know answers about their situation? How can we be compassionate with ourselves and heal our own lives? Compassion is an ascended posture of knowing, but I left out the good part.  This “magical ascended knowing posture” is also your authentic self.  The big epiphany we awaken to is that we don’t know how to be compassionate because we don’t know ourselves (or we are afraid to be ourselves in…

RESOLVE: The Greatest Gift We Are Given (and the Only Thing We Are Seeking)

If Harry Potter could tell you what the magic force was in his wand, he would say “resolve.” Resolve is a universal force and sensation linked with the effortless power within you in unity with the universe. That’s why we all seem to want it come January 1 every year—we subconsciously remember its link with oneness. This is the time of year we naturally ascend and move into this powerful state of oneness (and resolve) naturally, which is why Christians celebrate the birth of an ascended being, Jesus, this time of year. According to Webster’s, “resolve” is defined as “finding a solution to something” or to…

Anger Management is Not Just for Charlie Sheen and Me…

Hey Dana, I’ve become aware that I am angry all the time. I am upset to discover this about myself. What is anger in the spiritual world? ANSWER: First of all, thank you for submitting a question! Really good question, too! Know this, anger management is not just for Charlie Sheen and me. The whole world is in anger mode right now—it’s hard not to be angry. The good news is that you are aware of your emotional state. Ironically, most angry people, are not aware that they are angry. Being aware of our anger means that we are awakening. Now would be a…

Transcend Your Story

So we left off last week with the big idea that we are to do nothing unless we know that what we are doing is causing no harm to ourselves or others. This “doing nothing” is the practice that leads to transcendence from the state we are in now. The practice of doing nothing—allowing yourself space and time to know again—honors you and everyone in your world because it is based on karmic neutrality. Karmic neutrality is the idea that I am making the highest choice for myself and for everyone. I am not hurting or alienating to get my needs…
